Master Instagram Stories in 5 Minutes

Are you feeling completely lost and confused on what you’re supposed to be doing in your Stories on Instagram? You see so many “experts” telling you to do this or that, but nothing seems to be resonating with your audience. Well, you have found the right spot! From the ex Meta Exec herself, here are the best tips for getting your stories on the right track!

First off, lets dispel the myth that you should be posting 7-10 stories per day. Case studies show that people lose interest past the 6th story slide. This doesn’t mean to never do more than 6, but you should keep them 6 and under most of the time.

Another important tip is your stories shouldn’t be posted all at once. Try to do 2 slides, 3x a day or 3 slides, 2x a day. Why? Every time you post to stories, it moves your story up in the line of stories (where others view your story). Story posting 2-3x a day will keep your story near the front of the line and will capture more people’s attention.

To captivate your audience, your story slides need to be short bits of information & should always show the transformation (where you were and where you are now). Its important to paint the picture that your product brought you success and solved a problem for you. Even if a beginner, you still have a story on how you got to where you are today. The trials, the lessons learned thus far, the training, the mistakes made, etc. If you already have customers, be sure to get reviews from them and put those in your stories. Their transformations should be showcased more than your own, it will build more trust. Do this daily.

Also, show your personal life – peeks into your everyday life. Examples – do you love coffee? Something as simple as a cup of your favorite coffee and sharing what you put in it along with a sticker asking what your audience’s favorite coffee is. Do you practice yoga everyday or go to the gym? Share a picture of this and ask an interactive question.

Avoid sharing all of the details of your product. Initially, the customer only cares about the end result for them. When they see the end result first, this intrigues them to look into the details themselves. The details of your product should be on your product page. You can highlight some of the features throughout your story telling (transformation story) while prioritizing the benefits of your product that directly relate to your customer’s end result.
